Haldensleben Handle Vase – East German Pottery, 1960s / Fat Lava Design

A beautiful handled vase by Haldensleben from the former GDR, probably dating from the 1960s. The elegant rounded body, narrow neck and side handle give the vase a classic yet very decorative shape.

Particularly attractive is the contrasting glaze in light beige, white and dark black-brown tones. The irregular flowing surface, with small speckles and lava-like effects, gives the vase the typical character of East German ceramics from this period. A lovely collector’s piece for lovers of GDR pottery, Mid-Century design and Fat Lava ceramics.

The vase is marked on the base with 203/22 and is in excellent condition.
