A rare studio vase by the important German potter Gisela Schmidt-Reuther (born 1915). Made around 1980. Height 13 cm/ 5.1'. Marked underneath with the impressed artist's sign. Perfect condition.
G. Schmidt-Reuther studied at the Staatlichen Werkschule für Keramik in Höhr/ Germany, later on in Frankfurt and Berlin (also sculpture. She worked as a teacher in Höhr. Since 1940, she has taken part at many international exhibiotions, her objects can be found in lots of museums and also private collections. In 2008, she received the Westerwald award for her outstanding lifework.
